Worldwide Exclusive: Merkado x Lesley Mobo

Fill your space with a special, limited edition piece that celebrates beautiful Filipina morena women in Tropical Ternos, draped in Lesley Mobo's iconic patterns and designs he created during lockdown while on vacation in his hometown Aklan, Philippines. London-based, Filipino designer and TernoCon mentor, Lesley borrowed a sewing machine, looked for old fabrics, and decided to experiment on ternos. It is based on the national women’s dress, a terno, a formal dress with butterfly sleeves, but in printed cottons in piercing brights with couture-like folds and billows. For Lesley, it was an act of pure creation and discovery.

The collection is a celebration of the Filipino.

For Merkado co-founders, Grace and Fides, it's a celebration of being proudly Filipina, individually and collectively.  Beautiful. Empowered. Proud. Proud to be morena. Proud to be Filipino.

Each piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity card signed by Lesley Mobo.

The art prints are printed by local specialists on Canson Rag Photographique 310gsm museum-grade, fine art paper, acid-free, lignin-free with an age resistance of over 100 years. Each piece is finished with a craft-focused approach, trimmed by hand, packaged with care and posted in a flatpack or tube subject to size. 

All prints are ‘Print-to-Order’ which can impact postage and shipping times.

We ship internationally for all size prints excluding A0 due to weight and size. Shipping will be calculated at checkout. Cost will vary depending on qty of prints, print size and destination country. All international parcels are sent with tracking. International customers may be required to pay taxes and duty on delivery, as per local laws. These rates are set by the destination country and are based on the retail value of the parcel, which must be declared.
