Amami creations are an exemplar of the art of filigree, an indigenous technique where fine metal threads are expertly twisted and molded to form a beautiful, intricate design. Estela Rosita Pearl Drop Earrings (Small Gold)
Named in honor of the wife of one of Amami's partner artisans, Estela is a loving mother who has sacrificed being with her family to work overseas in order to make ends meet. When co-founders Christine and Danielle met her family in 2017, she had not seen her husband and kids for 7 years. She is one of the reasons why Amami strives to work harder each day and ensure sustainable livelihood for their artisans and their families. One day, they hope to be able to bring Estela back home for good.
The Estela Rosita Pearl Drop Earrings are made using an ancient technique in jewelry making called granulation wherein, after a long and tedious preparation process, tiny globules of metal are manually pieced and soldered together to form its decorative floral features. Only the most skilled and determined artisans are capable of mastering this technique.
This pair features freshwater pearls sourced locally from Philippine waters for that added dainty touch to any outfit.

AMAMI is a social enterprise that celebrates the centuries-old jewelry traditions of the Philippines.
Through AMAMI, a passion project between two childhood best friends Christine Tiu and Danielle Tan, they are reintroducing this dying remnant of pre-colonial culture to younger Filipinos, while at the same time empowering its few remaining artisans so that the craft continues to live on for generations to come.
It is their mission to keep the tradition of handcrafted pre-Hispanic heritage jewelry alive and merge them into contemporary thinking and culture. We believe in empowering, providing sustainable livelihood, and creating opportunities for Filipino artisans.
Today, AMAMI works with over 20 artisans to create wearable art rich with stories and traditions of the Filipino people.
